    Sprouts Farmers Market (SFM)

The stocks listed above all had a huge pop on the first day and three are currently Zacks Rank #3 (Hold) rated stocks. PBPB is not yet ranked as analyst reports have not yet come out. Having a rank of #3 (Hold) soon after an IPO is pretty common as underwriting banks have to wait a period of time before they can initiate coverage. The Zacks Rank tends to move up when there is a positive revision to estimates and that could take some time.

Advisors' Opinion:
  • [By Jon C. Ogg]

What generally happens when industries have only regional providers or merely a whole slew of competitors? Usually it boils down to mergers for size and scale, then outright acquisitions to eliminate competition. We have seen this consolidation in the wireless space with AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T), Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE: VZ), Sprint Corp. (NYSE: S) and T-Mobile US Inc. (NYSE: TMUS).

  • [By WALLSTCHEATSHEET]

T-Mobile is attempting to revolutionize the communications industry by providing less-restricted products and services to consumers and companies. The company reported third quarter results that left investors happy. The stock has been surging higher since its IPO and looks ready to continue. Over the last four quarters, earnings have been mixed while revenues have been rising, which has produced conflicting feelings among investors in the company. Relative to its peers and sector, T-Mobile has been a year-to-date performance leader. Look for T-Mobile to OUTPERFORM.

AT&T's latest one-two punch was timed just two days after one of its rivals, T-Mobile (TMUS), increased its prices for unlimited 4G LTE access by $10 to $80.

  • [By Doug Ehrman]

While there has always been healthy competition between the major wireless carriers, to date, the heart of the smartphone wars has been between devices. In March, T-Mobile (NYSE: TMUS  ) became the first to take a meaningful step away from phone subsidies, setting in motion what is becoming the next major battle for your smartphone consumption dollars. With AT&T (NYSE: T  ) and Verizon's (NYSE: VZ  ) recent announcements of their own "early upgrade" plans, the conflict is intensifying.
